Loans Provided for Renewable Energy Projects in India

The Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) provided Rs. 1265 crore during 2005-08 to 17 States to promote renewable energy projects. During the last 6 years it has provided Rs. 160 crore for the same purpose. IREDA however provides loan to the eligible project promoters/developers for setting up renewable energy/ energy conservation projects. It does not provide any loans to State Government departments.
