Auro Mira Energy Selling Biomass Power and Raising Cash for Wind, Small Hydro, Solar and Biodiesel.

Auro Mira Energy (AME), a renewable energy company at Chennai in Tamil Nadu is looking to sell power generated from its 10 MW biomass plant at T. Kalupatty and a 7.5 MW biomass plant in Pudukottai. Apart from biomass plant, the company also has plans to invest $ 900 million in small hydro, wind and to develop more than 15,000 acres of energy plantations in the next five years. In addition it has planned to venture into solar and biodiesel too. Baring Private Equity which has already invested around $ 50 million in AME in 2006 has shown interest to invest more than $20 million. Besides, the company is in talks with a couple of private equity funds overseas to raise up to $100 million.
