Name of the project : ” A Novel low speed wind turbine for rural electrification in INDIA”
The objectives of the project are:
- Electrification to un-electrified villages in INDIA
- Decrease in carbon foot print
- reduction in the gap b/w power demand and consumption
Location: NITTTR Chandigarh
[ Under the supervision of Dr. S. Chatterji (Professor and Head, NITTTR Chandigarh, EE department) and Dr. S. Chandel (Professor, NIT Hamirpur, Center of Energy and Environment)]
Highlights:
- It will help in the reduction of the carbon footprint
- A new concentrator called AshVer is designed which is far better than the proposed concentrator available and the power output will be increased so that we will be able to produce electricity from the wind in those areas where wind speed is low.
