In what could easily qualify as one of the biggest conferences in India till date on green energy and clean technologies, The New Indian Express-Columbia University conference on Clean Energy (http://expressbuzz.com/green), had the biggest names in India’s renewable energy sector under one roof discussing nothing but the future of clean technologies in India.

Dr.Farooq Abdullah said the country must realize the potential of the sun, wind, water and biomass to reduce dependence on fossil fuels. (http://expressbuzz.com/gici/give-a-big-push-to-clean-energy-farooq/301154.html) In a uniquely envisioned initiative to bring together policy makers and clean technology pioneers in India to a common table of discussion, Mr.Narasimhan Santhanam (Director of EAI) and Mr.Madhavan Nampoothiri (Senior Consultant, EAI) were among the few select invitees to represent India’s renewable energy consultancy sector.

Speaking about their experience, Narasimhan says “Was a good seminar with perspectives from policy makers, companies and Legal Beagles and not to forget, the politicians ...it was extremely useful.”

Overall, a wonderful step by The New Indian Express and Columbia University for the future of clean technologies in India. Now what remains to be seen is the outcome it derives in the form of support and incentives to green and clean tech enthusiasts across the country.
