Aspiration Energy – World’s largest industrial heater on factory shed rooftops

Aspiration Energy is an innovative solar energy services company.

Our specialization is in industrial solar heaters that can achieve up to 200 degree Celsius for industrial process applications. We have completed nearly 1 MW solar heaters running in 6 different industries for more than a year producing upwards of 110 degree Celsius every day. Two major solar thermal installations are one in Wheels India Limited of 630 kWth and another in Sona koyo steering systems limited of 210 kWth.

630 kWth Solar Thermal System WHEELS INDIA LIMITED

Wheels India Private Limited is promoted by the TVS Group and was started in the early 60’s to manufacture automobile wheels. They are currently the largest manufacturer of Wheels for the passenger car and utility vehicle market in India. In their production side before painting, the wheels undergo a hot water wash at a temperature of 60°C -75°C, commonly referred to as “seven-stage” process. They were using Furnace oil for heating the required temperature. In order to cut down the fuel cost, they decided to go for a solar thermal system.

Energy and Cost Savings:

Solar Thermal Energy Produced: 3780 kWh/day

Actual fossil fuel saved through Solar Thermal: 360 liters of fuel oil/day

Total Savings on Furnace oil per year: Rs. 48, 60, 000 (approximately   €60, 000)

Annual Carbon Abatement: 2, 80, 800 kg

210 kWth Solar Thermal System SONA KOYO STEERING SYSTEMS LIMITED

Sona Koyo Steering Systems Limited has engineering capabilities in the areas of machining and assembly, precision forging, cold & hot forging and heat treatment. The Group’s range of products primarily consists of steering and driveline components for the automotive OEM segment namely passenger cars, utility vehicles, commercial vehicles and specialty vehicles. In their production side before painting, the steering components undergo a hot water wash at a temperature of 60°C -70°C, commonly referred to as “seven-stage” process. They were using Furnace oil for heating the required temperature. In order to cut down the fuel cost, they decided to go for a solar thermal system.

Energy and Cost Savings:

Solar thermal energy produced:  1260 kWh/day

Actual fossil fuel saved through Solar Thermal: 120 liters of fuel oil/day

Total savings on Furnace oil per year: Rs. 16, 20, 000 (approximately   €20, 000)

Annual Carbon Abatement: 97, 000 kg
