India’s largest hydro-electric power producer, NHPC, is foraying into wind power generation by setting up a 100-MW power project in Madhya Pradesh.
“The company is setting up a 100-MW wind energy project at Kukroo in Madhya Pradesh,” NHPC CMD S K Garg told PTI.
It also plans to enter into solar as well as other non-conventional sources of energy generation. NHDC is a joint venture between NHPC and the Madhya Pradesh government, where NHPC holds 51% stake and the rest is held by the state government.
