Biomass conversion to natural gas – is this being followed anywhere? | India Renewable Energy Consulting – Solar, Biomass, Wind, Cleantech

I and my team might be working on an interesting project where the company is trying to move away from natural gas for its heating purposes and into the use of biomass for the same. The reason of course has to do with economics, with natural gas prices shooting through the roof past couple of years.

While we are figuring out ways in which the company could use biomass directly for heating instead of natural gas, this process poses some problems owing to the specific needs of the client. I am hence wondering if the process of converting biomass to natural gas is being followed anywhere.

I know that this is pretty much feasible, but not sure about the technology maturity and economics.

If there is anyone who is aware of commercial conversions of biomass to natural gas, do let me know. You can include your response in the comment section or send a note to narsi [at] eai dot in.

Thank you.
