I was going through a Wikipedia article on Solar Power in India that said, “a 35,000 km² area of the Thar Desert has been set aside for solar power projects, sufficient to generate 700 to 2,100 gigawatts.”
That’s interesting! 2100 GW = 2.1 million MW, more than the entire installed capacity from all sources (about 1,50,000 MW in 2007). Wonder what the status of this Thar Desert project is…
Just in case you are interesting facts on legs in knowing how to tap this vast power source for your home or factory, visit Solar Mango that provides comprehensive details on how to use solar for decentralised power generation from rooftops.
god has gifted india with with all sorts of resources…
why dont we harness them ? instead of begging worldwide !!!!
what are we waiting for……….we need energy and its right in front of us. we just have to work on it to make it happen, besides its cost effective as well…..I wonder why there is a delay.
