In another reaffirmation of the interest shown by financial investors in the solar sector, Amplus Solar, based out of Gurgaon has received a $150 million investment from global infrastructure investment manager I Squared Capital.
Amplus Solar is a fairly new entrant into the solar field, and from what they aspire, they seem to have a focus on providing premium solutions for the rooftop solar sector in India.
Until a year back, it was mostly utility scale solar firms that were generating interest from investors in India. Now, rooftop solar developers have also got in the limelight, perhaps owing to the increasing interest shown by the NDA government to get 40 GW of rooftop solar installed in India in the next 7 years – a gigantic task given that the country has only 1% of that right now!
