Renewable Energy Increases in India 2007-2012 - India Renewable Energy Consulting – Solar, Biomass, Wind, Cleantech

Where will the largest increases in renewable energy come from in India during the next few years? To answer this, I did a bit of research and got the following as the expected increases in renewable energy through during the period 2007-2012

As you would have guessed, wind occupies the prime spot. Wind energy is expected to add more than 10,000 MW of additional capacity by 2012, followed by small hydro (1,400 MW), co-generation (1,200 MW) and biomass (500 MW).

Well, the notable exception is solar energy, and the notable inclusion (at least for me) is co-generation.

Interesting estimates, would be keenly watching over the next couple of years to see how it pans out in reality!
