RL Clean Power Private Limited commissioned a 1 MW solar PV plant and connected it to the grid on 25 July 2011. The plant, located in Sivaganga District of Tamil Nadu, was one of the projects allotted under the “Rooftop PV & Small Solar Power Generation Programme(RPSSGP)”. Wipro Ecoenergy was the EPC vendor for the project. The details of the projects is available here.

This is the 3rd grid connected SPV plant in Tamil Nadu, and takes the total solar PV installations to 7 MW in Tamil Nadu. Another 1 MW plant, developed by B&G Solar in Mayiladuthurai,  was commissioned in June 2011 under the RPSSG Programme. The EPC vendor for the project was Tata BP Solar. The first grid connected plant in Tamil Nadu was earlier commissioned(in December 2010) by Moser Baer Clean Energy Limited(MBCEL) at Sivaganga. The construction of this  5 MW plant was done the EPC arm of Moser Baer Solar Limited.
