Value of education
With no maid and no aid, my mom asked me to slice out coconut white from the shell using a knife. What appeared to be a cinch took me half an hour, gave me four bleedings on my palms, with me somehow even managing to get a small cut on my right foot – all still resulting in a fairly messy job.
When I returned the whole thing, she looked at my hands and feet that appeared to have been just back from a small battle, and said that in her 60 years of slicing out coconuts, she had never had a single cut.
I am an IIT/IIM, my mom is a 10th grade pass.
Coconut lesson? Corona lesson?
