Since Fukushima, Japan has been restless leg syndrome exploring practically everything non-nuclear, and also it seems, everything sustainable!

Its solar push has been well documented. Now there have been recent forays into geothermal explorations as well.

Here’s a news report from Renewable Energy World that documents the country’s efforts. Which reminds me of India’s own start and stop efforts i  geothermal. We have barely scratched the surface in geothermal; there is no official estimate on even the total potential. There have been some beginnings made by LNJ Bhilwara Group, Tatas and Thermax, but the exact status is still unclear. What is clear is these are very early days for Indian geothermal.
