India’s First Solid Waste to Hydrogen Plant: PMC Sets up Plant in Hadapsar

  • Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is setting up India’s first plant to extract hydrogen from solid waste using plasma gasification technology in Hadapsar Industrial area.
  • The plant has a capacity of 350 metric tonnes, and PMC will pay a tipping fee of ?348 per tonne to the contractor.
  • The green hydrogen generated from waste will be used for industrial purposes.
  • The project is expected to be completed within a year, and hydrogen production will begin in the following year.
