The Gurgaon-based Emergent Ventures India Pvt Ltd has been given consent by the The State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) to set up a 12MW biomass power plant in Konch in Gaya district. The Astonfield Renewable Energy Resources Pvt Ltd, Kolkata, has been given consent on principle for setting up 10 biomass power plants with 10MW installed capacity each in 10 districts which are to be identified.

The SIPB has given consent to M/S Poorvanchal Uria Ltd, Tughlaqabad, for setting up biomass-based power plant of 1MW capacity in Buxar industrial area. The SIPB has also given consent to M/S Saran Renewable Energy Pvt Ltd, Chhapra (Bihar), to set up biomass gasification system for producing 240 KW electricity at Garkha in Saran district.
