US President Barack Obama proposed a “truly global coalition”, including India and China, to ensure collective energy security and protect “our climate” and “deny dollars to terrorists and leverage to dictators”. He also said the US is ready to play its role to combat climate change but wanted the rest of the world, including India and China, to do its bit.
Now that’s pretty typical of US, isn’t it? When they break it, they break it alone. When they wish that to be fixed, they want the world to help them.
But let me not complain so early into his presidency. Perhaps he really means what he says – that is, he considers the rest of the countries as partners, not as serfs that do the US bidding – and not the way US was last 8 years.
