By some accounts ( https://lnkd.in/gFs8mmAP ) , almost 95% of all emissions from an aircraft’s business value chain will come from the use of fuel during the aircraft’s operation, with its manufacturing contributing to just 5%.

So, if you are the CEO of Boeing, Airbus or Embraer and tasked with dramatically reducing the overall CO2 emissions from your business, you should be making frenetic visits to the different airlines the world over 🙂

This rather stark data begs the question: 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐩𝐞 3 𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐛𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝, 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭s 𝐨𝐟 𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰?

How can a Boeing CEO be held responsible even indirectly for what Delta or American does – especially when the extent of control the airline CEOs themselves have on emissions is right now rather flaky?!

Deep dive into our work

The Boeing CEO cannot be, if we live and do business the way we had been doing for the past 100 years. Which again brings me back to the question that is of great interest to me: Should the world of business & life start prioritizing interdependence a lot more than independence?
