Wow! Did you know that there is a detailed set of building codes that have been established by the government of India. See here. The purpose of this code is to provide minimum requirements for the energy-efficient design and construction of buildings in India.

“The Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) 2006 has been developed by the International Institute for Energy Conservation (IIEC) under contract with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) as a part of the Energy Conservation and Commercialization (ECO) Project providing support to the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) Action Plan.” So, this has been an international collaboration in which Indian companies and experts have contributed. Nice work, folks.
