Nissan Motor Company, which has chalked out aggressive plans to roll out its electric cars in US, Japan and European markets in 2010, is also mulling to make inroads with similar vehicles in the Indian market.
Though the zero-emission models have not yet been earmarked for the Indian market, there was a lot of buzz that Nissan Leaf will be the first car to be launched in the country.
Nissan Leaf, which was unveiled at Nissan’s headquarters Yokohama in Japan, runs 160 km on a single charge, would be priced on a par with gasoline-run cars, excluding the cost of battery, as claimed by Carlos Ghosn while unveiling the model.
