Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki recently emphasised on chalking out mechanism to tap the massive potential of renewable energy in the state.

“Our hill locks, mountains and river banks has enormous potential for developing wind energy which if rightly harnessed can generate good revenue,” Tuki said.

What is indeed the potential for the state? CWET’s unvalidated (according to their own admission) potential is just above 200 MW; of course, it is likely to be much, much higher. But even at 200 MW, it might not exactly be small, given that the total installed capacity for electricity from all sources for the state is only 213 MW!
