300 million potentially habitable planets in our galaxy
After reading this CNN news item ( https://lnkd.in/d3iXTqX ) over an hour ago, I’m still trying to get a feel for it and failing – it appears so overwhelmingly huge.
300 million planets in our galaxy alone could support life in theory, and there are around 200 billion freaking galaxies in the (observable) universe, according to NASA.
Thinking about such stuff can give you a real perspective, or, as in my case, a strong urge to stop thinking about anything and get some sleep – in the grand scheme of things, we humans are not just inconsequential, we are indescribably irrelevant.
