Some months back, I was listening to the 2019 Nobel Physics Laureate Didier Queloz when he had visited Chennai to give a few lectures on the origin of the universe. ( https://lnkd.in/gX9BzfV4 )
After his fascinating talk, a school girl from the audience asked him, “Sir, what do you think will happen to the world because of climate change?”
It appeared to be a simple question, something one would have expected to make a Nobel Laureate just breeze through with his answer, but Didier took a while to answer it (so it obviously was not an easy one!), and his answer was something on the following lines:
“I’m not sure if humans will become extinct in the near or even distant future because of climate change and global warming, but I’m almost sure that our lifestyles will have to undergo drastic changes; we may be living in a world and environment that we may simply find too uncomfortable”.
These thoughts made my put down my climate poll question for today:
How do you think the world will look and feel in 2500 AD?
