Financing is one of the most critical drivers for decarbonization, possibly even more than technology, and this will be even more true in the short and medium terms.

In the recent years, there have been many innovations in finance, especially in the intersection of financial and digital. The spectacular growth of fintech startups in India is something we are all aware of.

Some fintech applications have already started positively impacting the sustainability domain in general, but there is a lot more fintech can do for climate action. But going beyond technology, the innovation spectrum in finance to aid climate action is wide – the enhanced use of blended finance for many climate projects, crowd financing of climate projects are some recent examples.
