India finishes very last in global environmental performance index

We are not near the bottom, we are the bottom – 180/180.

So, to rub it in, ahead of us are countries like

And when news like this hits folks like us in the climate tech sector, we are forced to sit back, draw a deep breath, stare blankly for a few moments, hobble around a fair bit, drink many cups of coffee to restore our equilibrium and then finally ask ourselves – perhaps we doing the right thing but in the wrong country?

Where exactly are we going wrong to be in such a pathetic position? (And before we thrash those who developed the index, let’s remind ourselves we are ranked the very last, so it is unlikely we would have done much better under any metric)
