Making India the world’s climate startup capital – CLIMAFIX Summit 2023

India is the third largest tech startup ecosystem in the world. That’s something.

At CLIMAFIX, we went a step further and asked ourselves – 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘧 𝘐𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘢 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥’𝘴 𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘨𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘤𝘭𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘶𝘱 𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘴𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮 𝘣𝘺 2030?

I believe it is ranked 9th or whereabouts, for the climate startup domain.

Dreaming is easy of course, but imagine if we can pull off this dream!

Deep dive into our work

India – much more than many other countries – deserves to lead the world in sustainability and climate innovations. Sustainability is rooted in our culture. Frugality and conservation are part of our lifestyles. And nature and environment have been a larger part of most Indians’ lives than they have been for many in the “developed” countries.

As a result, there is a good chance that our innovations could be more frugal and more aligned to nature and environment than innovations from many other countries.

So, back to the dream. To take it further, we are launching an Insight Series themed:

𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝’𝐬 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐩 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥.

The above is theme for the CLIMAFIX Summit 2023, the country’s largest climate startup summit, organized along with Energy Consortium – IIT Madras, Sep 22 & 23, IIT Madras Research Park.

We will be engaging with dozens of stakeholders over the next 2 months, in the run up to the summit, to get their insights on how to make this happen.

I could be knocking on your doors/ringing on your phone – soon.

And I would really like your inputs!
