To fly or not to fly – Today’s clidemy climate poll

A New York – Delhi – New York round trip on a plane will have a CO2 carbon footprint – PER PERSON TRAVELLED – that is equivalent to running a 1 ton AC for 8 hours for one full year.

Looks exceptionally high, but this is a fact.

That is, if you avoid that long distance, international round trip – 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘦 – you are cutting off emissions that a typical residential AC emits for a year.

Avoiding a Chennai-Delhi-Chennai trip could mean avoiding a month of AC emissions.
