Agreement between Linde and Evonik to support latter’s methionine production; Linde to build 9-megawatt alkaline electrolyzer plant.
Here’s an article posted in Hydrogen Central.
According to the article,
- Linde has signed a long-term agreement to supply green hydrogen to Evonik, a leading specialty chemicals company in Singapore.
- The new supply agreement supports the planned expansion of Evonik’s existing facility and will help Evonik limit its greenhouse gas emissions in Singapore
- The new plant is expected to come on stream in 2024 and will be the largest electrolyzer ever installed in Singapore.
It appears that Linde is also continuing to expand its production capacity for green hydrogen by constructing facilities around the world, which are:
- Leuna, Germany: Linde is constructing a massive 24 MW PEM (proton exchange membrane) electrolyzer at its Leuna site. This facility will supply green hydrogen to industrial customers through Linde’s existing pipeline network. Additionally, they plan to distribute liquefied green hydrogen for refueling stations and other customers.
- California, US: Linde has plans for several five-megawatt PEM electrolyzers in California. These facilities will likely cater to the growing demand for clean hydrogen fuel in the region.
These projects highlight Linde’s commitment to diversifying its green hydrogen production methods and geographical reach. They target both industrial customers and the transportation sector, showcasing the versatility of green hydrogen as a clean energy source.
