Hive Energy makes huge investment of A$1.6 million into Carbon360 for innovative hydrogen storage method, bringing total to A$7.6 million.

  1. Non-Toxic and Non-Reactive: Hydrilyte® is composed of a metal hydride dust suspended in mineral oil, making it non-toxic and non-reactive. This reduces the risk of accidents and environmental harm during handling and transportation.
  2. Low Impurities: The dehydriding process releases hydrogen with impurities below parts per million levels, eliminating the need for additional purification steps. This reduces the risk of contamination and ensures high-quality hydrogen for use in fuel cells and other applications.
  3. Stability and Longevity: Hydrilyte® is highly stable and can be stored for decades without significant degradation. This stability ensures that the technology remains safe and reliable over long periods, reducing the risk of equipment failure or safety incidents.
  4. Simplified Handling: The liquid nature of Hydrilyte® allows it to be stored and transported using existing liquid fuels infrastructure, such as trucks, railcars, and ships. This simplifies handling and reduces the risk of accidents during transportation.
  5. No Catalysts Required: The process for storing and releasing hydrogen does not require catalysts, which reduces the risk of chemical reactions and associated hazards. This simplifies the design and reduces the capital costs of the storage system.
  6. High Purity: Hydrilyte® can deliver hydrogen with a purity of 99.999%, ensuring that the hydrogen is safe for use in fuel cells and other sensitive applications without the need for additional purification steps.
