H2 Carrier develops moving green ammonia production facility concept P2XFloater; works on FPSO technologies.

Here’s an article found in splash247 that talks about H2Carrier’s P2XFloater.

According to the article,

  • H2Carrier is developing a floating green ammonia production and storage facility.
  • The P2XFloater concept aims to produce green ammonia on an industrial scale and at a competitive price.
  • The facility will convert an existing very large gas carrier (VLGC) into a floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) vessel.
  • The entire process is powered by renewable energy.
  • The project is in collaboration with various partners.
  • The objective is to create a floating hydrogen and/or ammonia production and storage facility that will be connected to an adjacent wind farm.

Green ammonia has so much potential, especially with decarbonization efforts going full-scale globally.

Here are some other innovations done for producing green hydrogen:

Deep dive into our work

1. GenCell’s Green Ammonia Synthesis Process

GenCell has developed a new synthesis process that significantly improves the efficiency of ammonia production. Achieving a Faradaic efficiency of 50%, this method surpasses the typical 25% efficiency found in traditional processes. This breakthrough could potentially lower the cost of green ammonia production, making it more competitive with conventional methods. GenCell plans to patent this technology as part of its strategy to enhance its market position in green ammonia production.

2. Topsoe’s ModuLite™ Green Ammonia Plant

Topsoe’s ModuLite™ system is a prefabricated, truckable plant designed for power-to-X applications, including green ammonia production. This innovative plant design allows for quick delivery and commissioning, optimizing performance and efficiency over time. Topsoe also integrates high-temperature solid oxide electrolyzers (SOEC) for producing green hydrogen, enhancing the overall efficiency of the ammonia production process.
