A car weighs over 1000 Kg but most times carries a human weighing less than 100 Kg.

90% of fuel – and emissions – are thus for transporting metal, plastic, and rubber.

When I tell this to my friends and acquaintances, they are seriously surprised. Some of them, devoured by instant guilt, fervently try to find a mistake in my data – surely, they can’t be spending all that money on fuel to transport stuff other than themselves.

Nada, there is no mistake.
