The Confederation of Indian Industry (Southern Region) conferred its prestigious Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Excellence 2012 Award on Gamesa Wind Turbines Private, the wholly owned subsidiary of a Spanish Wind Energy MNC company.
Gamesa Wind Turbines Private Limited was the only chosen under the Renewable Energy sector amongst several contenders.
On behalf of the Chairman and Managing Director of Gamesa Wind Turbines Private Limited. , the award was received by Mr. MC. Mallikarjune Gowda, General Manager-HSE, from Mr. Premkumar Pandurangam, Senior Director-Sustainability, Cognizant Technology at a glittering function held at Hotel Taj Krishna in Hyderabad on 22nd March.
“The recent CII-EHS Excellence award presented to GamesaIndiais certainly a feather to its cap. It will further bolster in benchmarking ourselves in comparison with similar business enterprises in the dynamic wind energy sector,” said Mr. Ramesh Kymal, Chairman and Managing Director of GamesaIndiaand Chairman of the Corporate Sustainability Sub-Committee, CII-Southern Region.
“The CII-EHS award and a Certificate of Merit is not only special to Gamesa India since within a short span of over two years, we were able to demonstrate leadership skills in establishing systems, culture, and practices in routine and non-routine activities spread over different parts of our country”, Mr.Mallikarjune Gowda said adding that this CII honour has been bestowed on us at a time when Gamesa India had recently bagged the 2012 Golden Peacock EHS Award.
