ReNew Energy, JERA to Explore Green Ammonia Project in India

Chemicals & Petrochemicals | Low Carbon Chemicals & Fertilizers | Partnership and Collaboration

ReNew Energy and JERA will jointly evaluate a green ammonia production project in Paradip, India. The project will use 500 MW of renewable energy to produce 100,000 tons of green ammonia annually by 2030, aligning with India's green hydrogen mission and Japan's clean energy goals.

Notes

That's an interesting partnership, and possibly quite a profitable one, given that Japan has rather significant goals on green hydrogen, and is one country that has been big on green ammonia. In fact, the country was one of the first to pilot burning green ammonia in a thermal power plant along with coal!
