To solve the issue of tankers mixing in STP waste with waterbodies or stormwater drains, an apartmnt in Chennai has set up a self-sustaining 135 Kilo Liters per day (KLD) STP that does not rely on tankets to seperate the sludge. The sweage treatment plant also recycles the sludge in-house which forms the self-sustainment part of the plant.
