Reasearchers from IIT Madras supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, have invented Limestone Calcined Clay Cement (LC3), a cement that has demonstrated a 40 percent reduction in CO2 emissions and about 20 per cent lower energy for its production as compared to the manufacture of normal Portland cement.
