A lightweight electric formula racing car designed and developed by students of IIT Madras was unveiled. The RF23 was built by 'Team Raftar' that had earlier built a racing car with a combustion engine. The lithium-ion battery powered car, which can reach 100kmph in four seconds and a maximum of 150kmph-160kmph, is a stepping stone to the next generation electric vehicles and autonomous race cars. The battery can last 30 minutes-40 minutes on a single charge.
