While water sustainability is mostly discussed in the context of health and well-being of any economy and industry, it is also important as a decarbonization avenue. Estimates indicate that globally, efficient and optimal use of water resources can save upto 1 billon tons of CO2 emissions every year.
For countries such as India that are expected to face significant water scarcity in future and also have steep decarbonization targets, the time to innovate in water sustainability is now.
Sustainability in the water sector can be achieved through water use efficiency for a particular process, rainwater and stormwater management, preventing leaks from residential, industrial or public distribution systems, and recycling process of waste water. Every one of these domains can do with a good portfolio of innovations.
A number of passionate and innovative Indian startups are working in this sector, some using digital tools as a main component in their arsenal and others using innovative engineering concepts to recyle and reuse water from a variety of sources and waste streams.
The Sustainable Water sector within the CLIMAFIX Summit 2022 will have over 20 startups sharing their insights and providing brief presentations of their value propositions, in two sessions - a Panel Discssion and a Snapshot session.
In addition, we expect abuot 100 relevant delegates to include early stage startups or entrepreneurs in the sustainable water sector, corporates keen on investing and many key stakeholders from the government sector wishing to engage with the startups for mutual benefits.
The CLIMAFIX Summit is India’s only conference plus discussion forum that focuses exclusively on climate tech startups, with one of the key focus sectors being Water Sustainability.
Sustainable water is a key theme at the summit, with delegates expected from all important dimensions of the water ecosystem.
