Low Carbon Materials Insights, Innovations @ CLIMAFIX Summit 2022

Introduction

Low carbon materials - comprising a wide range of products and solutions - represent an most important decarbonization avenue for India as well as for the rest of world.

Materials embody significant amounts of carbon in them. It is hence critical for the Indian industry to strive towards making materials using lower energy consumption, use low carbon feedstocks such as bio & renewable feedstock, or enable better utilization of materials through reuse, life extension and recycling.

Innovations in low carbon materials in India are anchored around bio-based materials including bioplastics, low carbon construction materials, and in the use of agro waste to produce low carbon end products. In addition, many industries are incorporating efficiencies in both production and in the utilization of side streams or waste streams to lower the overall carbon footprint of materials.

The Low Carbon Materials sector within the CLIMAFIX Summit 2022 will have over 25 startups sharing their insights and providing brief presentations of their value propositions, spread over two sessions - a Panel Discssion and a Snapshot session.

In addition, we expect 75-80 delegates belonging to this sector to include early stage low carbon materials startups or entrepreneurs with the potential to found startups in future.
