Climate change is a reality - it cannot be wished away in the short term. The UNFCCC and IPCC are talking about fifty year plans and targets by 2100. At a country level too, countries such as India are planning for a fifty year transition to Net Zero.
What happens during this long transition period? How do various stakeholder groups remediate the effects of climate change and global warming on their respective ecosystems? Specifically, how can farmers the world over make their crops resilient to climate change?
The startup Bioprime AgriSolutions targets the last challenge - making crops resilient to climate change. Their choice of bio-based raw materials and plant associated microbes have the potential to provide the agronomic efficacy in a sustainable manner for the plants, even under climate adverse conditions.
Some of the prominent crops that the startup focusses on include rice, wheat and oil seeds, for which hotspots across Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and other states with varying climate and temperate settings have been identified.
Team EAI wishes Bioprime Solutions the very best!
