Receives US$4 Million from IREDA to Construct 140 Microgrids in rural UP and Bihar
I would say well deserved. Husk Power has been battling it out in the rural, distributred energy solutions space for over a decade. I remember their initial forays with biomass based distributed power generation, which they possibly still do.
Building rural microgrids, while highly impactful, is also highly challenging from implementation, O&M and economics perspectives. That's why I said well-deserved right at the start.
And the news item says their target is to have a million microgrids running across the world (mainly developing and underdeveloped economies) by 2030. Impressive and laudable.
