The Mahindra Group, one of India’s top ten business houses, today released its maiden Sustainability Report with an A+ rating from the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). Centered around the theme of ‘Alternative Thinking’, the report has been structured as per the internationally accepted framework specified by the GRI.
The report illustrates the Mahindra Group’s commitment to sustainability and its initiatives in various areas including the environment, energy efficiency, alternative fuel technologies and corporate social responsibility. Some of the key initiatives undertaken by the Mahindra Group as its commitment to the environment include the LEED Platinum Certification for the green buildings by Mahindra Lifespaces, the Mahindra Hariyali drive to plant a million trees, development of alternative fuel technologies at the Group’s Automotive Sector, the development of Bio-diesel tractors by its Farm Equipment Sector and the commercialization of energy efficient heat pumps by Intertrade to name a few.
