TN Pilot Wind Energy Project has Four Foreign Firms in Fray - India Renewable Energy Consulting – Solar, Biomass, Wind, Cleantech

The Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association (IWTMA) has shortlisted four foreign firms namely Garrad Hassan (UK), AWS Truewind, 3TIER (both US) and Denmark-based Risoe to run a pilot project on wind energy in Tamil Nadu (TN).

According to the chairman of IWTMA, the focus of the project would be to demonstrate that wind energy can be forecastable with an accuracy of around 60-70%. Wind is difficult to forecast as it is affected by factors such as topography, ground cover and temperature inversions.
