Gujarat to Have 19,259 MW Power Capacity by 2012 | India Renewable Energy Consulting – Solar, Biomass, Wind, Cleantech

S Jagadeesan, Principal Secretary, Energy and Petrochemicals Department, Government of Gujarat has said that the state aims to achieve 19,259 MW power production by 2012. He informed that there are many proposals in pipeline for the 12th plan.

Calling Gujarat the Energy Hub of India, he said the capacity of power production in the state currently is 11011 MW. The projected peak demand is estimated to be 14,374 MW, currently the planned capacity confirmed is 8,248 MW.
