Shriram EPC, the Chennai based construction company, is looking at bidding for projects in the power balance of plant (BoP) space. He said the company is setting up a team and will bid for BoP projects in three months.
Balance of plant is the sum of all the equipment for the safe operation as well as the technical coordination of all concerned parts of a power plant, which include coal handling, cooling tower, light & power installation, cables, etc. The main power plant includes boiler, turbine and generator (BTG).
