Solar Alternatives and Associated Programmes (SAAP) is a registered NGO.

Chosen area of operation is renewable energy in general and solar thermal energy in particular. It is located in Patna, the Capital of Bihar in India and its activities cover the whole of India. It is the sole fabricator of different varieties equipments for making use of solar thermal energy in Bihar and second for large scale Scheffler solar reflectors in India.

SAAP has got approval from the Ministry of Non-Conventional Energy Sources (M.N.E.S.) for manufacturing solar thermal devices. It also manages a number of Vocational Training Programmes affiliated to National Institute of Open Schooling (N.I.O.S.).

SAAP is also working in association with many other like minded NGOs and Social Action Forums involved in the same cause – Social Welfare and Environmental concerns. It has got a specific target and fully committed to it. It can be summarized in the dictum ‘Environment and Empowerment’.
