That’s really cool, isn’t it?
To know that an airport will be 100% solar powered?
Even cooler, when you get to know that it is right here in India, and in cool ole Cochin.
A 12 MW ground mounted solar farm at its cargo complex allow about 50,000 kWh of electricity to be supplied by solar.
Now, while it is not unheard of for companies or airports to using solar power for a large % of their operations, in many of these cases, these entities simply buy solar power from a ground mounted solar farm operated by someone else.
In this case however, the Cochin airport has installed its own solar farm at its premises – noteworthy indeed.
