Sure, we should not read too much into it when a coal mining entity such as Neyveli Lignite Corp is considering setting up 600 MW of solar projects across the country

Because they are at the same talking about GW-scale coal power plants as well.

So, how much ever be your love for solar, coal will rule for a while.

At the same time, it is worth asking whether these plans by a coal major is only just idle explorations or whether these are representative much larger investments in future.

Also, whether these are signals that even coal miners feel that there could be issues with coal supplies in future even if we theoretically have sufficient resources to last over 100 years.
