26 private players to develop 250 MW
solar projects in Punjab

Punjab government awarded projects to 26 private
players for setting up 250-MW solar power units,
entailing capital outlay of Rs 2,500-3,000 crore.
Lanco Solar Energy, Punj Lloyd Infrastructure,
Moser Baer Clean Energy are among those which
have been awarded the projects.

AP to permit more developers to set up
solar photovoltaic plants

Andhra Pradesh Government
has decided to
permit any company to set up a solar photovoltaic
unit in the State assuring them of Rs 6.49 paise per
kWh. Chief Minister
N. Kiran Kumar Reddy
approved the proposal of AP Transco to give
opportunity to all solar power developers, even
those who have not participated in the recently
concluded competitive bidding for 1,000 MW.

Gujarat
seeks
to
lower
solar
power
tariffs

Gujarat is seeking to cut the rate it pays to solar
projects,
citing
the
owners’
excessive
profits.
Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd., the state-run bulk
buyer of solar power, submitted a petition to
regulators because of the “unjustified and windfall
gains” by plant owners.
The purchaser has signed
88 contracts for a total of 971.5 MW of solar
capacity.

park
at
Paramakudi in Tamil Nadu to be ready in
three months

The Rs. 920-crore solar energy park, being
established at Paramakudi near Ramanathapuram
would be ready in next three months. The park
would make 100 MW of power available to the
Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Ltd.
(TANGEDCO) in April 2014.

deadline

way behind schedule and have missed the
