get more time to meet solar purchase obligations
(SPO). As per the Tamil Nadu Solar Energy Policy
2012,
the
SPO
prescribed
for
HT
and
LT
commercial establishments is three per cent by
December this year and six per cent from 2014.

project
between
state

Agency
(UPNEDA), and the government hydroelectric

Power
Corporation (NHPC). The 100MW joint venture will
start after MoUis signed between the two

Tata Power to build 50 MW solar plant in
Madhya Pradesh for NTPC
Tata Power Solar Systems Ltd. won a contract from
NTPC to supply solar panels for the 50 MW project
and construct the plant at Rajgarh in Madhya
Pradesh by March. With this project, NTPC will
double its solar capacity. Tata Power plans to
develop 1,000 MW of renewables by 2017.

Welspun Energy
Welspun Energy Ltd. (WEL) has been awarded 32
MW solar capacities by the Punjab Energy
Development Agency (PEDA) through a single
stage competitive bidding. The project is expected
to be commissioned during the second quarter of
2014. Cumulative 32 MW capacity was awarded to
WEL under the Punjab New & Renewable Sources

Astonfield Renewables announced that Credit
Rating Information Services of India Limited
(CRISIL), a division of the McGraw Hill Corporation,
has given an A- credit rating on loan facilities for its
5 megawatt (MW) solar power plant in Rajasthan.

Anert and Keltron fight it out for solar

As solar companies have come under a cloud of
suspicion, two reputed Kerala state agencies are
battling it out to get a share of the solar energy
pie. While Anert is the nodal agency for the
flagship 10,000 roof-top solar power plant project,
Keltron has been tasked with a relatively low-
profile mandate of installing solar plants in
government offices.
